The Explorer’s bold exterior comes in a variety of color options including Rapid Red, Agate Black, Magnetic, and Rich Copper. Able to carry up to 7 passengers, the Explorer’s interior can adapt easily to accommodate more cargo space when you’re traveling with fewer people. Available third-row PowerFold®️ seats fold down completely when not in use to provide 87.8 cu. ft. of cargo space. A twin-panel moonroof floods the cabin with natural light and gives every passenger a view of the journey ahead. The 10.1” LCD portrait touchscreen is the centerpoint of the dash and provides easy access to media, calls, and navigation.
Performance
The Explorer has an available 3.0L EcoBoost®️ engine which is paired with a 10-speed transmission. Available rear-wheel drive (RWD) gives you better performance on and off the road while increasing the towing capacity by up to 600 lb. And speaking of towing, the Class III Trailer Tow Package is available in certain trims which provides a maximum towing capacity of 5,600 lb. paired with trailer sway control to ensure your camper, boat, or gear arrives safely to your destination. Seven Selectable Drive Modes are available in a dial in your center console to help you take on rough terrain. These modes include normal, trail, deep snow/sand, slippery, sport, tow/haul, and eco.
Safety and Technology
FordPass Connect™ lets you and your passengers stay connected with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot which can be accessed by ten devices up to fifty feet outside the Explorer. SYNC3®️ voice-activated technology lets you access navigation and media with your natural voice and is even compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
